~Short History About Laksa~
Since year 2000, the owner of this house, Mr. Lee and his wife decided to sell economic noodles such as Curry Mee, Ban Mee, Laksa and others by setting up a stall in their house. The most popular dish is Laksa as the brother of Mrs. Lee, Ah Seng mentioned that their Laksa is cooked with Thailand’s style. They learned on the steps to cook this homemade Laksa soup base by adding variety of ingredients with their own secret recipe and condensed into thick soup. From day-to-day, they reviewed their customers’ preferences and improve the Laksa until the soup is now with distinct sour, spicy and delicious taste. This special Laksa then become well-known to every household in Kampar for 12 years.
Due to its spicy taste and popularity among the students, the schools in Kampar such as International school and also UTAR have invited the owner of Laksa stall to sell their Laksa in the charity bazaar organized by them.
Some years ago, Mrs. Lee stated that they use to run their business at night as well but due to the old age, they change the business hour to morning to after session as they would like to have more rest. As they did not employ any worker, Mr Lee will be in charge of frying and preparing the side dishes while his wife in charge of cooking the noodles and soup. His family members and neighbours also offer their hands in his business. If you wish to enjoy the “homey” and harmonious atmosphere during your breakfast, New Wah Loong Laksa is definitely your choice.

The price of Yong Tou Fu is also cheaper than the other stalls so I can choose more pieces." -- By Yen Feng, UTAR student (existing customer).
~Value Proposition~
The Laksa soup is served as a soup base with variety choices of noodle such as lai fun, mee, bihun and wonton noodle. Besides, there are a lot of side dishes - Yong Tau Fu to be chosen to accompany with Laksa such as meatballs, tau fu, lady’s finger, bitter gourd, long bean, fried fish balls, eggplant and others.
Thus, you can make your own mixture of noodle and Yong Tou Fu together in your favourite Laksa!
Moreover, the price of Laksa is ±RM2.80 (depends on the types of noodle) and the side dishes are ranged from RM0.30 to RM0.60. Therefore, customers can order what they want to eat within their budget. Besides, from the feedback of customers, the price of Laksa is cheaper compared to other stalls or shops. Hence, this is one of the reasons that attract the students to visit this stall.
Mrs. Lee mentioned that the Laksa soup is boiled as she starts her business in the morning so that the soup will be thickened while Mr. Lee will fry more Yong Tou Fu only when there is not enough to serve. They want their customers to enjoy fresh and good quality side dishes with the hot Laksa soup. Therefore, this Laksa has become customers’ favorite.
